SD Africa supplied, project managed and installed 540 High Pressure systems in Darling. As part of this project, SD Africa trained members of the local community who were employed as part of the installation team and provide ongoing maintenance of the installed Solar Water Heaters.

DARLING RDP HOUSING PROJECT

SD Africa was contracted to convert Eskom owned and leased premises to energy efficient alternates.
A total of 60,000 km were travelled by our teams. The tender required that all work be completed within 7 months. SDA completed the project in 8 weeks.

- 136 locations were audited 261 installations were completed.
- These installations were made up of:
- 126 X Geyser timers and controllers
- 130 X Solar Water Heaters
- 5 X Heat Pumps

In addition to the sourcing, supplying and distribution of Green Energy products, SD Africa provides solutions in the Green Energy Sector for large scale projects. For example, project managing and execution of large contracts, from supply through to installation and maintenance of solar water heaters as well as other green energy products to large volume clients.

SD Africa has developed key competencies in the planning and development of project plans for mass volume solar water heating rollouts including pre-assessments of areas and homes to identify their suitability for solar installations, inspections of individual homes and recommendations on installation parameters and training of local labour to NQF Level 2 Solar Water Heater Accredited Installor.

Our clients include Eskom, City of Cape Town, local municipalities and international donor funders. SD Africa’s direct engagement with these customers helps overcome challenges faced by other dealers who are not geared up to deliver such large scale projects.

GARANKUWA

Supply, training, project management, installation and ongoing maintenance of 5000 low Pressure systems for Eskom.
Lowest failure rate of all suppliers commissioned to install on the project.

Quickest installation. SD Africa commenced work 2 months after the other Contractors and was the first company to successfully complete all installations. SD Africa trained and employed in excess of 250 local people in the community to work on the project.

SD Africa supplied, project managed and installed 100 High Pressure Solar Water Heating Systems at the Libanon (New Build) Housing Village near Westonaria in Gauteng. SD Africa’s sister company, SA Solar Academy provided training for 10 young people from the local community who were trained up to work on the project and ultimately be equipped to maintain the installations and ideally develop their skills further to become economically active in the industry. The project was successfully completed in 9 days.

All our products are tested by the SABS to the standards of the Solar Water Heating performance specifications. We have in some cases asked for even more extensive SABS testing. The reason for this, is to ensure that our products are of the highest quality and able to perform beyond expectations.
